[About DeTect]
DeTect is a global technology company specializing in advanced 2D and True3D radar and remote sensing systems for aviation safety, national security, and environmental protection. Since 2003, we have delivered over 1,100 systems to airports, military installations, wind farms, and critical infrastructure sites across 60+ countries.
Our MERLIN radar systems give air traffic controllers real-time visibility of bird activity in the surrounding airspace — the kind of early warning that can make the difference between a rerouted flight and a tragedy, as the 2024 Jeju Air crash at Muan Airport made clear to the world. Our HARRIER and DroneWatcher systems detect hostile drones crossing restricted airspace, addressing a growing national security priority on the Korean Peninsula. We are the recognized global leader in small, low-radar-cross-section target detection, and our proprietary signal processing algorithms are what set us apart.
In 2023, DeTect opened its Korea office in Pangyo Techno Valley to serve the Asia-Pacific market directly. We are building the engineering team that will power this next phase of growth.
We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to own the full lifecycle of DeTect's deployments across Korea and the Asia-Pacific region — from contract award through commissioning, acceptance testing, and customer handover. Our projects span aviation safety, wind energy, counter-UAS, and unmanned aerial systems, and no two are alike.
This role sits at the intersection of project delivery, customer engagement, and technical execution. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, manufacturing, software, and field services, while serving as the primary point of contact for customers, regulators, and partners. You will also contribute directly to business development — supporting proposals, tender submissions, and customer presentations.
This is a high-ownership role in a lean Korea team. You will work closely with DeTect's global teams in North America and Europe, and travel domestically and internationally as project needs require.
[What You Will Do]
• Serve as the primary technical and project management point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle, from sales handover through final acceptance
• Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of DeTect systems, ensuring compliance with scope, schedule, budget, quality, and performance requirements
• Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, budgets, risk registers, and project documentation
• Coordinate cross-functional teams — including engineering, manufacturing, software development, field services, logistics, and subcontractors — to achieve project objectives
• Review and manage radar system architectures, network designs, site-specific configurations, and technical requirements to ensure successful deployment and integration
• Oversee system installation, testing, commissioning, acceptance testing (FAT and SAT), and customer training in collaboration with DeTect's global teams
• Manage technical communications and stakeholder engagement with customers, regulators, consultants, and end users to facilitate timely decision-making and issue resolution
• Coordinate regulatory and compliance activities, including frequency licensing, permitting, and technical submissions required by government authorities
• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and technical challenges to minimize delays and cost impacts
• Monitor project financial performance, support invoicing milestones, and ensure accurate project reporting in collaboration with finance and operations
• Support business development through customer meetings, technical presentations, product demonstrations, and the preparation of RFIs, RFQs, proposals, and tender submissions
• Coordinate customer change requests and scope management throughout project execution
• Gather customer feedback and lessons learned to support continuous improvement, product enhancements, and process optimization
• Contribute to technical documentation, installation procedures, user manuals, and project best practices
• Support long-term customer success by identifying follow-on opportunities, upgrades, and service requirements
• Travel domestically and internationally as required to support site surveys, deployments, testing, commissioning, and training
Required
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Radar Engineering, Remote Sensing, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum 5 years of project management experience in the remote sensing industry (radar, RF sensing, surveillance systems, or related technologies); direct radar project management experience strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders across various disciplines
• Experience managing technically complex projects involving hardware, software, networking, or system integration
• Strong business acumen — able to contribute to proposal development, distil complex technical content into clear customer-facing materials, and produce professional documentation
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience delivering technical briefings and training to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities
• Business proficiency in both Korean and English (written and verbal) — you will engage with Korean customers and government bodies locally, and communicate daily with DeTect's teams in the US and Europe
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required; valid driver's license
