[About Our Team] Legal Team
Our Legal Team partners across the organization to provide strategic guidance, protect our business, and enable innovation. We handle corporate, commercial, compliance, dispute resolution, and data privacy matters, ensuring the company operates safely and efficiently in a fast-moving global environment. As a member of the Legal Team, you will work directly with executive leadership and cross-functional teams on a broad range of matters, playing a pivotal role in the company's global legal operations.
[About the Role]
Join a fast-growing, innovative tech company where legal, compliance and privacy considerations are integral to how we build trust with our customers and operate globally. We are looking for a Legal Counsel to take ownership of two core areas — general business and commercial matters and data privacy and protection — while also supporting healthcare compliance, corporate governance, dispute management, and information security.
[Why This Role Matters]
This role is central to helping the company grow responsibly across multiple jurisdictions. You will provide practical legal guidance that supports commercial decision-making, protects the company's interests, and enables teams to move quickly while taking ownership of legal, regulatory and compliance risks.
Your advice will directly influence and shape fundamental business decisions, including how the company structures strategic partnerships, launches products, manages risk, establishes scalable processes for AI governance, and operates across global markets.
• Lead compliance with HIPAA, GDPR, PIPA, and other applicable data protection and privacy requirements, including customer-facing privacy documents (BAAs, DPAs) that are integral to closing deals in the U.S. and Europe.
• Advise executive leadership and cross-functional teams on contractual risks, corporate governance, and day-to-day legal matters.
• Help build and operate the legal intake and review process and playbooks, engaging with deals and initiatives from the early planning stage.
• Handle civil and criminal disputes, claims, investigations, and pre-litigation issues, coordinating with external counsel and law firms where appropriate.
• Support healthcare, regulatory, and compliance issues relevant to the company's products, services, partnerships, and international operations.
• Monitor relevant legal and regulatory developments and translate them into practical guidance, contract architecture, and corporate policies.
• Active bar membership in good standing.
• 5–10 years of experience in the practice of law, with substantial exposure to commercial contracts and international business, including advising on cross-border legal issues and coordinating matters involving multiple jurisdictions.
• Hands-on experience advising on data privacy and protection matters — HIPAA, GDPR, PIPA, or comparable frameworks.
• Fluency in Korean and English, both written and spoken.
• Be able to live and work in Korea, with flexibility to participate in meetings across international time zones.
